House Of Medici (18:45 Windsor — Track Radio On Digital & DAB Restricted Novice Stakes, 1m)
A three-year-old bay colt by Bated Breath, trained by Andrew Balding — who has been in excellent form with a 19% strike rate over the last fortnight — and partnered by the classy Oisin Murphy, who knows Windsor better than most. House Of Medici showed plenty on debut at Kempton over 7f last month, finishing third of eight behind Crossbar, beaten 3¼ lengths as the 5/2 favourite. That run reads well — he shaped with promise and the step up to a mile on turf tonight at Windsor looks an ideal opportunity to build on that debut experience.
His dam won at 1m4f so the stamina is there, and the good to firm ground should present no issues. With Murphy in the saddle and a yard firing on all cylinders, normal improvement from debut would make him very hard to beat in this nine-runner novice.
