Onehundredneighty (13:37 Worcester, this afternoon: Richard Davis Memorial Handicap Chase, Class 5, 2m4f)
B Pauling’s six-year-old chestnut gelding by Ocovango, ridden again by Ben Jones, who is 1 from 3 on him. He made a winning chase debut here at Worcester 17 days ago, jumping boldly and beating Prairie Queen by 5 lengths. That was his first win in ten starts, after the move to this yard. His hurdle form at 2m4f suggests this longer trip will suit, and he has already won at the course. The key unknown is the 10lb rise for that win, which asks plenty. The yard is also cold at the moment, without a winner from its last four runners.
Verdict: Back Onehundredneighty to win. He’s a lightly-raced chaser who jumps well, and the extra distance and a weak pace look to suit him. 🏇
