Tenability (14:25 Ascot, this afternoon: BetMGM Cumberland Lodge Stakes, Group 3, 1m3f)
William Haggas’s gelding, stable in career-best form, having won the August Stakes at Windsor last time by half a length under a willing effort. Suited by this trip and acts well on quicker ground, which today provides. He’s a reliable Group 3/Listed performer now, and while he may be close to his ceiling, that level looks plenty good enough here, with stablemate Al Aasy his biggest danger from within the same yard.
Verdict: Back Tenability to win. He sets the standard on recent form and the step up to this grade looks within his compass. 🏇
