Battenburg Belle (15:50 Beverley — John Allinson 90th Birthday Handicap, Class 6, 5f)
R Menzies’ filly, ridden again by Jason Hart who’s 2 from 6 on her. In red-hot form — three wins from her last four starts, all over this 6f trip at Catterick, including last time out when landing a handicap by 1½ lengths off a 5lb lower mark. Steps down to 5f today for the first time this campaign, and her only previous run at this course, over a different trip, didn’t go to plan.
Verdict: Back to win — a filly flying right now, just needs the drop to 5f to suit as well as her favoured 6f has. 🏇
