Amber Hamur (15:15 Musselburgh — Thomson Bethune Handicap, Class 6, 1m 208y)
A three-year-old bay filly by Saxon Warrior, trained by Ed Bethell — in excellent form at 28% over the last fortnight — and partnered by Connor Beasley, who has ridden her to both her wins this season and has a 100% record together. Amber Hamur has won back-to-back handicaps at Hamilton in July and Ripon on 3 August, hitting the line well each time and giving every impression there’s more improvement to come. Both wins came on similar ground to today at 66.7% win rate on the going.
She steps up slightly in trip today for the first time at Musselburgh, but Bethell’s stable is well in form and Beasley knows this filly inside out. In a Class 6 field of eight, her recent winning form puts her clear on paper.
Verdict: Back to win — back-to-back wins, in-form yard, Beasley retained, and still improving. 🏇
