Silver Lake has been progressing nicely this season, winning her handicap debut at Salisbury on 11 July, quickening clear in the tongue strap to beat Food For Thought by ¾ of a length at 5/2. She steps up in class today but Haggas doesn’t bring fillies to Goodwood without good reason, and a 64-day break suggests she’s been freshened up for this specific target.
Saffie Osborne takes the ride in a small field of just seven, the draw in stall 4 is a positive at this track, and good to firm ground is exactly what she handled at Salisbury.
Verdict: Back to win at 11/8 — progressive filly, top yard, small field, and conditions are right.
